Window & Glazing Damage

A broken window won't wait either.

Cracked panes, blown-out glass and failed frames — boarded up fast, then replaced properly without leaving your property exposed.

Broken glazing is unusual in that the immediate risk and the lasting fix are two separate jobs. Making the opening secure and weathertight is urgent — especially overnight or after a break-in; sourcing and fitting the right replacement glass or frame is a slower job that needs the correct measurements and glass type. We treat both stages as part of the same job, so you're not left boarding a window yourself and then chasing a second contractor for the permanent repair.

What to do while you wait

What to do if a window is broken or a frame has failed

If glass is broken or a frame has failed, a few steps in the first few minutes make a real difference:

  • Keep everyone, especially children and pets, well clear of broken glass on both sides of the window
  • If it's safe to do so, sweep up loose glass fragments and place them in a rigid container, not a bin bag
  • Cover the opening from the inside with cardboard or a board if you have one, to reduce heat loss and keep the property secure
  • Do not attempt to remove a cracked pane that is still in the frame — it can fail suddenly and cause injury
  • If the break is the result of a break-in, photograph the damage before boarding it up, for insurance and police records
  • If there is any risk to life or an ongoing break-in, call 999 first, then contact us

Call us as soon as the opening is covered — the faster we can measure and order the replacement glass, the sooner the permanent repair can be completed.

Boarded-Up Broken Windows

Broken or smashed windows from accidents or break-ins are boarded up immediately to secure the property and keep it weathertight.

A broken window is always two jobs in one — making the opening secure is urgent, especially overnight or after a break-in; sourcing and fitting the right replacement glass is a slower job that needs proper measurements. We handle both stages so you're not left boarding a window yourself and then chasing a second contractor.

  • Rapid emergency boarding
  • Weatherproof temporary cover
  • Security make-safe
  • Insurance-ready documentation

Cracked & Blown Double-Glazed Units

Cracked, chipped or failed double-glazed units replaced with glass that matches the original specification — single, double, laminated or toughened.

Failed sealed units (the misted or foggy look between panes) are common in older double-glazing. While not an emergency in the same way as a smashed window, they still let heat escape and look unsightly. We measure and order replacement units that match the existing frames, so the repair blends in seamlessly.

  • Failed sealed unit replacement
  • Cracked or chipped glass
  • Laminated & toughened glass
  • Matching original specifications
03

Failed or Draughty Window Frames

Draughty or failed window and door frames repaired or replaced — uPVC, timber or aluminium, including seals, hinges and locking mechanisms.

A frame that's warped, rotten or simply worn out causes as many problems as broken glass — drafts, water ingress, poor security. We assess whether a repair is enough or whether the frame needs replacing, and advise honestly on the most cost-effective long-term solution.

  • Frame repairs & replacement
  • Seal & gasket renewal
  • Hinge & lock repairs
  • uPVC, timber & aluminium

Secondary Glazing & Conservatory Glass

Emergency repairs to secondary glazing, conservatory roofs and glass doors — including polycarbonate panels and toughened safety glass.

Conservatory roofs and secondary glazing often use specialised glass or polycarbonate panels that need careful handling. We source the correct thickness and type, and ensure the replacement is properly sealed and secured to prevent leaks or further damage.

  • Conservatory roof repairs
  • Secondary glazing emergencies
  • Polycarbonate panel replacement
  • Toughened safety glass

Common questions

How quickly can you board up a broken window?

Most call-outs across W3, W5, W7 and W13 are boarded up within a few hours of first contact. A broken window overnight or after a break-in is treated as a priority make-safe.

Can you match my existing glass and frame?

Yes — we measure and order glass to match the original specification (single, double-glazed, laminated or toughened) wherever possible, including matching frame colour and finish for uPVC and timber frames.

Do you deal with break-in damage?

Yes. We board the property securely the same visit, and can provide photos and a written report for your insurance claim or the police, if needed.

Is a call-out fee charged even if you only board up the window?

Typically yes, since it covers the time and expertise of attending and securing the property, even if permanent glazing is scheduled for a later visit.

Will you provide a written quote before ordering replacement glass?

Yes. Once we've measured the opening and confirmed the glass specification, you'll receive a written quote before we order anything or start permanent works.

What areas do you cover?

Response is focused on Ealing, Acton, Hanwell and West Ealing, and the surrounding W3, W5, W7 and W13 postcodes.
